Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A fragmentary terracotta mask preserving the face of a pharaoh, with prominent, wide-set eyes, a straight nose, and full lips. The brows and eyelids are defined with incised lines, and a patterned band with dotted decoration runs across the forehead.Size: 70mm x 50mm; Weight: 35gProvenance: Private UK collection; Ex. M. H. collection, Kensington, acquired on the UK art market in the 1970s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
