Letter dated 1908 sent to Rabbi Yosef Hacohen Schwartz, asking him to send a copy of the Sefer Abudarham he had published with his father’s commentary, for his Beis Hamedrash in Munich.

Rabbi Chanoch Ehrentreu (1854-1927), disciple of Rabbi Chezkia Feivel Plaut of Surany and of the Kesav Sofer. Son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Amram Hirsch of Hamburg. Rabbi of the Munich orthodox community for 40 years. Leading German halachic authority and author of many rabbinic works including Minchas Pittim, Kometz Hamincho and Sheyorei Hamincho.

Rabbi Yosef haCohen Schwartz (1875-1944), son of Rabbi Naftali Schwartz, author of Beis Naftali and Rabbi of Mad. Disciple of Rabbi Yaakov Tenenbaum, author of Naharei Afarsemon, and son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch, Rabbi of Bonyhad and author of Pri Hasadeh and Tevuas Hasadeh. Dayan in Bonyhad and Rabbi of the Machzikei Torah community in Groswardein. Authored a large number of halachic works and edited his father-in-law’s writings for publication. For 20 years he served as editor of the respected rabbinical journal ‘Vayelaket Yosef’ including many of his own contributions.
