WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE FIGURINE OF A BULL
Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A bronze figurine of a bull with a robust body and a slightly arched back. The head is elongated with a pronounced snout, small rounded ears, and two forward-facing conical horns that rise vertically. A circular perforation is present at the hump, through which a thick bronze loop passes. The legs are short and sturdy, tapering slightly towards the base. The tail extends from the rear and curls into a tight spiral.Size: 70mm x 45mm; Weight: 90gProvenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1980s on the UK / International art markets.
