WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE PIN WITH IBEX HEAD AND BIRD
Ca. 900 - 700 BC. A bronze pin with a long, slender shaft tapering to a pointed tip. The upper section broadens into a slightly wider segment, followed by a ribbed collar below the terminal, which is shaped as an ibex head with backward curving horns forming an open loop. A small bird perches on the ibex’s neck, its body extending outward with a raised head and a short beak.Size: 280mm x 50mm; Weight: 150gProvenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1980s on the UK / International art markets.
