Rabbi Ahron Mordechai Lieberman served as Rabbi of Bilka, a small town in the Carpathian mountains between Munkacz and Chust, but opponents of his embittered his life there and he left in 1927 to become Rabbi of Feledyhaza. In this letter, written by Rabbi Yehoshua Daft, a supporter of the former rabbi, he describes the internal situation within the community after the rabbi’s departure, and the elections that took place for a new communal leadership in 1927.

Rabbi Ahron Mordechai Lieberman (1887-1944), son of Rabbi Baruch of Balsha-Dyarmat and favoured disciple of Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg of Unsdorf. Son-in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Beilush of Yanashi (son-in-law of Rabbi Hertzka of Ratzfert). Appointed Rabbi of Ofalo at the age of 20 and of Bilke in 1915, Feledyhaza (1927). President of the Council of Orthodox Jewish Communities of Subcarpathia.

Rabbi Yehoshua Daft – Lipschitz (1880-1944), born in Zidatchov, son-in-law of rabbi Avraham Lipschitz, highly respected Shochet in Bilka.
